- Bring a pen. Every party must complete an in-flight agriculture declaration form, as required by the State of Hawaii.
- Bring a valid photo ID. Adults (over 18) must provide a federal or state-issued photo ID. If you forgot/lost your ID, the Transportation Security Administration might be able to verify your identity by other means. Read more here.
- Pack neatly. Security x-rays can easily determine if your luggage is safe to pass when your luggage is organized and packed well.
- Don’t wrap gifts. Whether you’re bringing a gift for your extended family in Hawaii, or taking a Hawaiian souvenir back home, security may need to inspect the gift—and will unwrap it if needed.
- Keep your jackets and sweaters in your carryout. It’s a hassle to take off a jacket while standing in the security line. Keep it in your bag until you pass through security.
- Tools, sporting goods, chemicals, and self-defense items go in checked luggage. Read more here.
- Know the 3-1-1 rule. And be ready to take it out of your bag before passing through security screening. Don’t bury beneath your belongings.
